Welcome to Klondike Middle School Wellness Department!
Wellness at KMS consists of two week rotations from physical education to health class. The goal of the two week rotation is to try to maintain and improve fitness levels as well as to keep students motivated in the classroom.
In physical education classes students can expect to learn about a variety of sports and fitness activities. Students also participate in quarterly FITNESSGRAM fitness testing to determine if they are in their Healthy Fitness Zones and showing improvement. Students participation in these activities will help enhance and promote lifelong learning and physical activity.
In health classes students will learn the importance of mental/emotional, physical, and social health and how to balance these aspects of wellness. (Some of the topics include: Anatomy, Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs, Environment, Mental and Emotional Health, Personal Health & Wellness, Safety & Injury Prevention, Sexual Health and Violence Prevention).
